How to Apply?

We’ve designed the application process at Skilled Trade Institute to be as simple as possible. It just takes a few minutes to fill out the application (Activate LINK HERE) and we can begin processing your application. An Admissions Representative will be in touch and can answer any questions you may have.


How old do I need to be to apply?

To be eligible for enrollment, a prospective student must be at least 18 years of age. 


Admission Procedures

The school determines, with reasonable certainty and in advance of class start date, that the applicant has proper qualifications to complete training. Each Enrollment Agreement and other pertinent information submitted by the applicant will be reviewed prior to starting classes.


Prospective students may complete their enrollment application through our website's electronic enrollment process. All students, upon acceptance of an Enrollment Agreement, are conditionally admitted into Skilled Trade Institute. The conditional status remains until the student’s documentation is judged acceptable. Allowing adequate lead time (ideally 30 days minimum) for both evaluation of the document(s) submitted and an alert regarding any deficiency prior to being officially accepted into the Skilled Trade Institute program. 


Admission Requirements

To comply with the school’s admission requirements prior to enrolling, students must supply Skilled Trade Institute the following documents:


  • Driver License issued by a State of Texas (Provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address).
  • Social Security Card (Other than one that specifies on the face that the issuance of the card does not authorize employment in the United States). 
  • Birth Certificate (Original or certified, issued by a State, county, municipal authority or territory of the United States bearing an official seal.
  • (2) Official High school transcripts recognized by the student’s state (Only unopened official copies will be accepted).


Transcripts are evaluated upon receipt. Skilled Trade Institute evaluates documents for validity and reserves the right to request additional information or official copies, or deny those deemed invalid. Note: All students at Skilled Trade Institute are required to submit high school transcripts rather than copies of their high school diplomas to satisfy admissions requirements.

Enrollment Agreement Binding Contract 

As a condition of enrollment, Skilled Trade Institute, requires each student to sign an enrollment agreement containing a binding contract. The full enrollment agreement binding contract can be found here in the Admissions section (Activate LINK HERE)


Class Availability & Size

There are many factors that can affect the scheduling of classes. Skilled Trade Institute strives to accommodate the scheduling needs of all students. However, Skilled Trade Institute does not promise or guarantee the availability of any class and specifically reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel any class, change room or location, dates, times or otherwise change the availability of any class.


Class size is limited to provide adequate personal instruction in both classroom and hands-on assignments, and allow adequate access to special tools and equipment. Maximum classroom enrollment is 10 students (per class).
